HELLER-WEXLER FAMILY CAMPS 5775/2014-15
To address the growing challenges and changing face of the modern Jewish family, URJ Eisner and Crane Lake Camps, through the generosity of Robert and Amy Heller, have created the Heller-Wexler Family Camp Series. Our Family Camp weekends shape and frame the Shabbat experience through hands-on programs and activities that explore the joys and challenges of family life through a Jewish lens. Time together as a family and meeting other families make these weekends unforgettable!

Mother-Daughter Weekend featuring Nicole Nevarez
March 13 – 15, 2015
(For Moms and their Daughters currently in Grades K-7)
Nicole Nevarez is the New York Director of Moving Traditions. She’ll facilitate “It’s a Girl Thing!,” an experiential education program currently touching the lives of 3,500 girls across North America. The program uses Jewish teachings and practices to give girls a place to feel safe, articulate their deepest concerns, consider the impact of gender on their daily lives, have fun, and be “real” with their peers.
Moms, escape to the Berkshires with your daughters for the weekend! We’ll begin on Friday at 5:30 p.m. and welcome Shabbat camp-style, with a lively, kid-friendly musical service, Shabbat dinner, song session, and Israeli dancing. On Saturday, after another kid-friendly Shabbat experience, Nicole will lead interactive activities for Moms and girls, exploring what it means to be a Jewish girl, daughter, mom and woman in our secular world today. Weather permitting, we’ll also be outside playing ball, hiking, challenging ourselves on our ropes course, and rolling up our sleeves for crafts, cooking and yoga. While the girls are cared for by our superstar staff, there’ll be special opportunities for Moms to learn with Nicole and socialize with one another. We’ll begin on Friday at 5:30 p.m. and say good-bye at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday.
